SW-1 Asphalt Thickness Design Software Information for Windows Vista & Windows 7, 64-bit users.

Notice For Windows Vista & Windows 7 Users
SW-1 version 1.0.4 was developed because there were some installation compatibility problems between SW-1 version 1.0.3 and Windows Vista and Windows 7.  If you are not using Windows Vista or Windows 7, there is no need to upgrade from version 1.0.3 to version 1.0.4.

If you have purchased a new computer with Windows Vistaor Windows 7 and have never installed SW-1 you will need to download SW-1, version 1.0.4 to install on your new PC.

If you have a PC with Windows Vista or WIndows 7 and want to transfer your license from a PC running Windows XP, you should follow the SW-1 license transfer procedure to transfer the license from your Windows XP PC to your Windows Vista PC. As part of the process you will need to download version 1.0.4 and install it on you Windows Vista computer first.

NOTE: When installing on a PC with Windows Vista or Windows 7 you will need to be logged on as the administrator of the PC or as a user with administrative privileges to successfully install SW-1.

As always it is advisable to make sure you have a current backup of your PC and that you close any antivirus or spyware programs before upgrading to SW-1 version 1.0.4.

Notice For Windows Vista or Windows 7 64-bit Users
SW-1 was written using Microsoft's Visual Basic 6 (VB6) development environment. Here's what Microsoft says about VB6 applications and 64-bit Windows:

"Visual Basic 6.0 runtime files are 32-bit...32-bit VB6 applications and components are supported in the WOW emulation environment only. 32-bit components must also be hosted in 32-bit application processes."

SW-1 will not work directly in 64-bit Windows. It *may* however work in a 32-bit emulation environment running under 64-bit Windows.
Be aware that has not been tested and AI assumes no responsibility for running SW-1 in this environment.

AI is in the process of upgrading the software to work in the 64-bit environment. This update should be finished soon.
