Charlena Gray joined the Asphalt Institute in May 2003, starting in customer service and now serving as Facility and Office Manager. She strives to keep the building and grounds safe, clean and modern, focusing on future needs. She manages office issues assuring that all staff has a comfortable and efficient work environment.
Charlena has extensive experience in administrative assistance, beginning with being a secretary to the Fine Arts Department at Lees Junior College in Jackson, KY, at the age of 16. She went on to attend Lees Junior College where she earned an Associates of Arts degree and then Eastern KY University earning an Associate’s Degree in Juvenile Corrections and a Bachelor of Science in Police Administration.
Charlena has country roots being from a small, poverty-stricken area in Eastern KY. After college, she moved to Lexington for better job opportunities.
Charlena has been fortunate to have been actively involved with the AAPT since 2006.
Outside of work, Charlena enjoys making precious memories with her son and 2 grandchildren.
