MoDOT Asphalt Pavement Inspection Workshop

Course Overview

This workshop is offered in cooperation with the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT). The MoDOT Asphalt Pavement Inspection Workshop covers many of the same general topics as the Asphalt Institute’s Paving Inspector Certification (PIC) program, with the content condensed and modified to emphasize requirements and practices specific to MoDOT. Registration is open to all DOT personnel, contractors, consultants, laboratories, suppliers and local government agencies. Please register early as seating is limited.

This course covers the fundamental information that all asphalt paving personnel should know. Experienced personnel will find information that will augment their current knowledge of construction processes. It covers information essential for inspection and project management personnel to help ensure asphalt pavements reach their intended service life.

The course agenda and each topic will closely follow the outline of the MS-22 Construction of Quality Asphalt Pavements manual that will be provided to each student. The instruction is intended to be interactive with time for discussion and questions.

Who Should Attend

The workshop is designed for engineers, inspectors, technicians and contractor personnel responsible for quality control of paving materials, mix designs, the inspection and operations of asphalt plants and paving operations. Participation should include personnel from federal, state, county and local agencies, airport authorities, paving contractors, consulting engineers and testing laboratories.

• Includes a copy of the Asphalt Institute MS-22 construction manual
• Includes a personalized certificate for nine (9) professional development hours (PDH)
