The Asphalt Institute and the Asphalt Institute Foundation embrace holistic sustainability from both tactical and strategic perspectives. We support members in meeting green procurement policies through Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) programs and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) tools, while enhancing long-term industry resilience through collaborative research on energy transition scenarios and decarbonization options.
Health, Safety, Environment (HSE)
We promote petroleum asphalt as a safe and environmentally friendly construction material through scientific research and technological developments. Our member-driven HSE committee collaborates closely with Eurobitume, the European association of bitumen producers, on health and safety issues with global scope.
